Associate Professor Igor Verner of the Technion's Faculty of Education in Science and Technology is an internationally recognised mathematician who applies his knowledge of mathematics and modelling to areas as varied as educational robotics, technology education and ethnomathematics (the interaction of mathematics and socio-cultural factors). Born and educated in Russia he made aliyah in the early nineties and has been teaching at the Technion since 1993. He is the recipient of numerous awards and has led several winning Technion teams at International Robot Olympiads.

Professor Verner is a 2010 TSA Theeman Scholar in Australia for the 6th Biennial International Conference on Technology Education Research and the International Robot Olympiad and Symposium on Robotics Education.
