This is an opportunity to hear two of the world's leading researchers into the complex areas of energy and modern medicine.
Professor Gideon Grader and Associate and Professor Dror Seliktar are in Sydney to be speakers at Sydney University’s Israel Forum. Prof Grader will also meet with other universities and leaders in the energy sector.
Professor Grader, who is Director of the Grand Technion Energy Program (GTEP), will detail thecutting edge research being undertaken in the GTEP. GTEP focuses on four areas of research including alternative fuels, energy storage and conversion, renewable energy and energy conservation.
He will also speak about his own work including in the synthesis and processing of ceramics for advanced materials in energy-related applications and the development of high-temperature high pressure catalytic reaction processes that enable clean energy extraction from non-carbon fuels.
A chemical engineer by background, he has been the Director of the GTEP since 2007. In addition to his academic research, Professor Grader has been Visiting Scientist at Bell Laboratories in the USA and Chief Technology Officer for Israeli company Cellaris Ltd.
Associate Professor Seliktar, with degrees in mechanical engineering and biomedical engineering , is a world authority in tissue engineering and regenerative medicine. His novel biomaterial, Gelrin, is currently undergoing clinical trials in Europe.
At a time when Australia is debating a carbon tax you will not want to miss this opportunity to see where energy research is currently going. And you will not want to miss hearing about tomorrow's medical solutions being developed today
